Kind of an oddball one but Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame is one of my favorites.  I love the contrast between the religious opression of one priest who is wrapped up in himself and the priest who gets it and is concerned about pouring out God's love to people around him.

Remember the Titans was good and Dead Poet's Society is really one of the all time greats.  St. Elmo's Fire goes right up there too.

"...my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me." He added, after a pause, looking me full in the face: "That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave"

I grew up on John Wayne movies, ALL western movies that were black and white along with war movies that were black and white.

BUT Movies like Chisum, have been seen endless times.

Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, Eighty are just targets, Nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." - Hericletus, circa 500 BC

Just about any movie by the Duke. But you have to love him in "The Longest Day" leadership at it's best.

For those Duke fans. How many movies did the Duke die in and name them? Do it without looking them up.

Jacobs Ladder - One of the best movies that I have ever seen, probably better than 99% of the drivel that Hollywood calls art. Despite the often terrifying and unsettling visuals in Jacob's Ladder, the film is really about coming to peace with one's life or more appropriately one's death. What really happens during those last few moments of life? Jacob’s Ladder is as original as movies come.

What Dreams May Come - A powerful film about the afterlife

AA, let's see how many I can name, The Fighting Seabees, The Alamo, The Sands of Iwo Jima, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, The Cowboys and The Shootist.  Those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
