I did a p.net search and found nothing on the proposed topic of movies other than those that involve paratroop ops and Passion of the Christ, so I don't think I'm treading on old territory.

Name a movie that has influenced your faith and, if you want to, why or how. I ask because I don't get to see many movies and want to make better choices with what I get to watch.

For instance, I'll list The Matrix. It's a great allegory for for Paul or Jesus (I lean toward Paul). Mr. Anderson is a knowledgable guy in his field; Saul is a smart guy from one of the intellectual centers of the region. Mr. Anderson realizes that what he thought was important was nothing more than a hoax. He has an alarming reaction to his new reality (Paul on the road to Damascus). He goes by Neo now (Saul/Paul). Armed with this new knowledge, he sets out to help those who freed him, but it takes him a while to get it (3 years of on his own to work stuff out). There are some great parallels. "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path." Don't I know it.

Well, its your turn. Hopefully our local mom-and-pop video rental will have what you suggest.

This may sound corny but I liked "Ghost" a lot.

What Dreams May Come -- Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding.  I like the idea of soulmates, reincarnation, and something more to life than the world we know.

Dead Poet's Society -- Seems almost cliche now, but I was in high school when that came out and loved what I was getting out of school, and I thought the messages were just for me.

Stripes -- Yeah, Stripes.  The movie itself didn't inspire me, but I was watching it for the umpteenth time in high school, when it first occurred to me that I might like the military.

Walk The Line -- Couldn't stop thinking of the movie for a long time after I saw it.

oh, I love Dead Poets Society.  I watched it just the other day.  Very good story.  One of the main charactors is now on "House".

I love Remember the Titans.  Feel good story and shows what you can overcome as well as teamwork.

name a movie that has influenced your faith...

The Rapture. (From the 90's)

Check it out. Definitely a creepy religious movie that won't bore you.

The moral of the story is: "You're totally f**ked anyway".

Well, that's kinda how I remember it ...

"Veritas Omnia Vincula Vincit"......."Send Me"......"Sua Sponte"

"Dogma".

Just kidding. Although, it did make you think a bit.

Same with "The Seventh Sign"

Another one that seems blasphemous but has a lot to say is "Bruce Almighty." That's the movie for the discussion on free will and what God wants us to do. Good stuff.

Also, "Blackhawk Down" for so many reasons. Nothing tops Hoot at the end with his explanation of why he serves.
