The two year old boy in this article, also goes by William and had been in my son's preschool class.  He didn't have class today but will tomorrow.  There is a grief counseler there to work with the teachers but the two that work with that class were unable to even go into the room today, they were so upset.  Please uphold them and the father in your prayers.

Mother, 2 children found dead in garage

Detectives found a woman and her two young children dead in a car inside their garage Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators do not suspect foul play.

The woman, Faye Johnson Vick, was 39. Investigators found her and her children, 2- year-old Jason Vick and 3- month-old Madison Vick, about 12:30 p.m., said Debbie Tanna, spokeswoman for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

The three lived at 711 Foxcroft Drive in the Hunter Ridge subdivision, which is northeast of Fort Bragg, about a half mile from Ramsey Street.

Investigators went to their home after one of Faye Vick’s acquaintances called them, worried because she had missed an appointment.

Tanna said the detectives’ investigation inside the house led them to conclude no one else had been involved in the deaths.

She said she did not know how long the three had been inside the car.

Vick’s husband, Lt. Col. Jason R. Vick, was deployed in Germany on Tuesday, a neighbor said, but was returning to North Carolina after being told of his family’s deaths.

The neighbor, Erwin Montgomery, said the Vick family was quiet and didn’t bother anyone in the neighborhood.

Montgomery said he would sometimes see Faye Vick taking her two children on walks around the neighborhood.

Once, he said, he and Faye talked about a difficult time he was having. Faye told him to keep a positive attitude and to move on.

He said other neighbors, who declined to be interviewed, were shaken by the sight of patrol cars on their street and upset by the deaths.

Tanna said investigators were waiting for the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Chapel Hill to complete autopsies before they say how the three died. She said the autopsies should be complete today.

That's horrible. I hope they find out how and why something like this happened. Prayers sent for them and the family.

I heard about this on the radio, driving home from PT this morning.  The details were sketchy, but i'm afraid i can draw my own conclusions as to what happened.

My prayers go out for LTC Vick.

Actually she was a very kind woman who was the friend of my motorcycle riding partner's wife.  She, sadly, suffered from Bi Polar disorder and her friends had seen her going into a bad depressive state.  That is why when she missed a meeting that she was supposed to go to they insisted that the police check it out.

Drawing drastic conclusions about things we have little knowledge of rarely helps a situation.

It has been ruled a murder suicide by the local police, they died from carbon monoxide poisening.

Having dealt with someone with a multitude of depressive disorder (including Bi-Polar) since 1988, I know all too well the insidious nature of the disease. It is easy to harshly judge her, but it would be wrong in my opinion. Medications can only do so much, and often when it kicks in the person just can not equate that they feel better because of the meds and go off it. Not a pretty situation when that happens at all, depending on the meds it can be an almost imediate drastic swing in mood and behavior.
Of course trying to figure out what exactly caused this is moot in my opinion as well. Whatever triggered it, it is a tragedy and my thoughts go out to her husband who is now left with the pain of losing his family. I hope he does not blame himself for this, and that he has the love and support of family and collegues to get him through this.

Damn! I feel for the dad.  Dealing with someone who is b-polar is not easy. May the kids rest in peace and may the family begin to heal from this ordeal

I feel for the Dad, Friends and Family of these Children this is a true tragedy.

However this woman damn well needs to be judged and I am quite sure she has already been judged! When it comes to the outright murder of any child in such a manner I dont buy the whole "oh he/she was sick" agument for one minute .

I know you weren't talking to me, but since I kicked it off, I'll explain myself.

I was thinking post-partum depression, not knowing about her bi-polar (which I also deal with, not suffer from)  Studying Criminalistics, you learn to take what you know on the surface and draw a conclusion, then work to prove or disprove based on more facts.

I was using the 'just gave birth' and 'daddy's deployed' as a 'she couldn't deal with it'  Maybe I was wrong and i apologize for drawing a general speculation, Sir.
