Bravo64 Welcome.

I'll take a Guinness with a Power's Irish Whiskey back!

Welcome also as a former 509er, I was in 1/509 70 - 72. There is a forum here for the 509th Association. If you are not already a member of the Association then please consider becoming a member. With contact to 35 members you will be a great source to the Association.

If you would like additional info on the Association you can contact trooper509 here on pnet.

Welcome, Bravo64.  I know a handful of vets from either the 1st or 2nd Battalions from that time period.  Another member here, Dutch, was in one of the two battalions at that time.  As MGD said, if you want to join the Association or need anything let me know.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

"...my religious belief teaches me to feel as safe in battle as in bed. God has fixed the time for my death. I do not concern myself about that, but to be always ready, no matter when it may overtake me." He added, after a pause, looking me full in the face: "That is the way all men should live, and then all would be equally brave"
