Hi All

I just joined the paratrooper net, some hell of good place to meet fellow paratroopers, I spent more than 15½ years inn the second paras of the french foreign legion based in the city of Calvi on the island of Corsica in the mediterainian sea (southern France)

Got the french jump badge, German jump badge and the US.Army jump Badge, you can see more on my website http://www.fremmedlegion.webbyen.dk

Now im retired at the age of 42, but only from active army life, doing a bit territorial army here in Denamrk with the rank of 1st sgt amd work for the danish goverment as food and meat controller.

Best wishes and HOOOAAAH

Welcome to P-net! I've had some experience with guys from the 2nd REP... found 'em to be hooah and professional.

As a side note... is there any truth to the noise that the Legion Et'ranger is going to extend the term of service to 20 years?

Hoooaaah You can stay in the FFL as long as you are fit enough, we had guys in my old regiment with more than 30 years on their back even a guy in HQ with 37 years on his back, well they say time limit is when you turn 55 then it is about time to relax.

Best wishes

Hmm... let me rephrase my question. I heard a rumor that the legion was going to make 20 years the minimum retirement mark instead of 15 as a method of retaining experienced personnel. Figured the proposal would be a dead issue as far as legion advocates were concerned but politicians have a funny way of getting unpopular ideas made into law.

Ha ha sorry mate i am a bit tired here it is 11h20 pm well got your question wrong in first place, yeah politicians have some funny but also stupid ideas yes. retirement time from the FFL is still minimum 15 years, after that it´s up to you if you wanna continue.

Best wishes
