| It's been a month so I'll offer up a pig for those interested in a good bar-b-que - Whenever we make a decision, we unconsciously run it thru a mental and/or emotional filter that allows us to make choices consistant with what we believe to be true, significant, and appropriate. That filter is a result of how we have organized information to make sense of the world we live in. Those in the military learn to suppress emotions and feelings as not to interfere with the task at hand, although I am convinced that women have a harder time of doing this than most men, why, I do not know. I don't mean this in a derogatory manner, just what I have experienced. I am trying to put together a summary of how we learn to make decisions based on many different factors which allows some the ability to think outside the box, and others who get hung up on one or two ways of thinking and doing. What is the key to thinking outside the box? Remember, there is no wrong or right answer to a question like this, just looking for plain ole experience without an over inflated ego attached.

One difference between believers and non-believers in the decision making process is that in addition to applying current life experiences, current knowledge, and strictly human logic is we can also apply the 'black and whites' and principles we find in scripture. That would be 'outside the box' of strictly human experience and knowledge. I guess it depends on your definition of 'box', if I am even close.

| Traditional in the box thinking to me means; those that believe that every problem needs only one solution; therefore, finding more than one possible solution is a waste of time. Out of the box thinkers focus on the value of finding new ideas and acting on them. B4B, I certainly accept your idea/belief of applying biblical text theology to the human experience as a way to solve problems. I would consider it a traditional way of solving human problems as they relate to the where's and why's of the here today challenges. Don't get me wrong. It is a good way to lead people in the direction of the truth. So why then do we have science?

Born4Battle (10/30/2006) One difference between believers and non-believers in the decision making process is that in addition to applying current life experiences, current knowledge, and strictly human logic is we can also apply the 'black and whites' and principles we find in scripture. That would be 'outside the box' of strictly human experience and knowledge. I guess it depends on your definition of 'box', if I am even close. For years I've believed life is a journey back to it's source, the creator! To be able to evolve our conscious awareness back to the creator and his creation is some of what is revealed in Isaiha 48:7 when the father spoke to Isaiha. Even Christ said to his disciples - I have many things to tell you but you cannot hear. (can't remember ch/vs) Everyone has their own definition of the box I guess, and when it relates to religion and creation, I believe the box is all around us. And when we think outside the box, the box goes away and we can relate to the source without hinderance! SMSB
