Hey, have any of you been to the site AirborneRangers.com most of those guys are jerks and maybe its wrong for me to say this but everytime I asked a question they started cussing at me so I just want say thank you for giving me this fabulous information and not getting mad at me. If I do become a paratrooper and I live lets just say Fort Bragg, Noth Carolina do I ever get free time to do the things I like. By the way I like to play tennis and golf will I ever get to do those thing or will I be costantly jumping out of a plane or to simplify that question what is a typical day on post for a paratrooper.
Im sorry if any ranger is on this website i didnt mean it to you i just mean it on that website thank you for understanding.

Kid, you need to watch it.... Those guys over there are not "jerks", they are as RangerRios pointed out a tough bunch. They are a different breed than you will ever find anywhere else, and they have an entirely different set of rules over there. Many of those "jerks" are members of this site as well, and it would behoove you to not piss them off (here or there). Treading on thin ice with that comment... you may want to make ammends for it.
We'll call it part of your learning experience, and a lesson in respect being earned.

AbnCrazy, I missed that "jerk" part.  You are right those guys have been at the tip of the spear for 5 years now.  Some have two and three tours in OEF/OIF.  The kid has a lot to learn.

I kind of figured you had missed it. Hopefully the kid learns the error of his ways. Perhaps he should ask his dad what walking into a room full of Rangers and calling them jerks would gain him..

Corky, for many years I worked with Special Forces and the Rangers supporting them and caring for them and doing every thing I possibly could for them but I always understood that I was not one of them.  They will respect that if you keep it in mind and NEVER claim to be what you are not.  Those are a very special breed and they deserve an unbelievable amount of respect.  They will beat each other down on a regular basis and that is OK, that's their business.  I have not earned that right.

You sound like you're willing to learn so do the best you can.  If you have any doubts about the beat down the people get when they try to claim they are something they are not take a look at the Busting Posers section of this forum.  However, if you are respectful of who and what they are, they will gladly teach you--they may pick on you, but you need to be able to handle that to make it in the Army.

Welcome to the site, thanks for wanting to serve our country like your father.

I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.
