Two Caught, Two Get Away In VFW Break-In | Dated: 09/06/2006 1:05:55 PM |
| | By Mandi Sheridan 2News Dayton police arrested two people believed to be involved in a Wednesday morning break in, but two others are still on the loose. Dayton police said the area has been hit hard lately and that's why they were already patrolling close by when the alarm sounded at the VFW post on Free Pike. Officers were able to arrest two people behind the building, but two others ran away. Police brought in K-9 units to track them down, but were unsuccessful. Lieutenant David Sherrer said the inside of the VFW building is completely torn apart. "Interior is completely ransacked. The business, the cash register, offices, kitchen, food locker, pretty much anything of value. Some of the items they dropped when the officer apprehended them. Tool cases with tools, drills, that type of thing." If you have any information on this crime or the whereabouts of those two suspects still on the loose, please call Dayton police at 333-COPS. | | | |

Junkies desperate for things to sell to support their habit would be my guess...
"The degenerative and loony should never be denigrated but, rather, thanked. In their absence, the rest of you would be obliged to fill congressional seats... positions naturally unsavory to the sane and honorable." Thorax

| You would think this country could figure out how to funnel this kind of anger into something that would do some good. These kids want and need to be recognized. They don't care what kind of recognition they get, as long as it's attention. Let's give them something to fight for. Give'm a stint fighting a fire in California woods. Give'm a chance to support their own community fighting crime. New York does this on a somewhat small scale letting kids work with the guardian angels. The guy that heads that group is a great leader and knows how to motivate kids and adults alike. Single these youngsters out and funnel their anger into something positive, not sit in jail somewhere, wasting away, just thinking about what they have done wrong. Don't get me wrong, there are some good reform programs out there. It's not enough though. It's gonna take more people getting involved. SMSB
