I was there 90-93 and there was NO detachment of Rangers there....and a condensed ABN and RIP/RNGR school?  Oh...that's about as good as a Marine walking the mat at the Tomb.

The story gets worse. Somehow, his records were destroyed between his exit in the early 90's. He did go back in as a cook at a unit in Texas (this is verifiable by his wife who was there with him; wasn't with him for the mystery tour). Somehow he convinced the inprocessing station to give him all his previous awards, badges, and schools despite having no DD-214 (?!) or any other documentation. Either I did things the hard way and this guy is a genius at beating the system, or, well you have already said it better than I could.

Bullshit! His records are tucked away with every other swinging richard that served (other than the ones who lost them decades ago when the records center burned down). This guy is so full of shit, it must seep out of his pores like a Sloth. If he is still in, guaranteed this shit will catch up to him.

Bullshit!  The Army would be able to confirm from other records the existence of an abbreviated BAC and/or RIP.  Go over to ArmyRanger.com and give them the details here.  They will eat this guy's lunch.  If he lied to inprocessing when he went back in go to CID and make an official complaint.  This is getting into UCMJ area.

I was in Vicenza with the 325 as an 81mm mortar squad leader until September of 1990, when all the action was ramping up.  If your brother-in-law was any more full of shit, he'd be the first bona-fide case of a colostomy bag that walked and talked.

Subesequently, I went to 101st MI LRSD in October of 1990, and made the trip to the sandbox shortly thereafter, lasting through May of 1991.  Met up with some brothers from 3/325 in 1991 at Khobar Towers as LRSD was preparing to leave.  Got the scoop on their deployment straight from the horse's mouth.  Again, he is full of shit.

Then again, maybe he was around when me and a few fellow LRS-types were yakking it up with the 325'ers, and heard some of their Ranger School anecdotes and decided to incorporate them into his own "military memories".  Wouldn't that be ironic?
