Hey there-

I just went back into the Army--this time on Active Duty. They offered me 13W at Ft. Bragg so that I could keep my rank.  I have been to Bragg, but only for train-ups before deployments--never assigned.

I could really use some input on which FA unit to try and get myself assigned to. I have never worked with a conventional unit, and would really like to get with a good one and possibly get some more training schools. I looked online, but only found a few units at the XVIII ABN Corps. Are there any in the 82nd?

Any and all helpful input regarding this--or moving to Bragg in general would be appreciated. I have to report the first week of Sep. Thanks in advance!

They'll send you wherever they need you, unit wise.  Once you get to Bragg, 82nd or not, feel free to PM me if you need anything.

That being said, your bio says something about going SF, why not come RA straight to SOPC???

That was the orignial plan, Hatter - But USAREC wouldn't let him do it.

Can you find out if DIVARTY has any 13W positions, and maybe get him a contact there if they do?

THANKS, Brother!

There is no more DIVARTY. Division Arty BNs are now assigned directly to the BCTs

1/508th Abn Inf, 82nd Abn Div 81-83

1/4th Inf (Mech), 3rd Inf Div (USAEUR) 83-84

DIVARTY, as you all knew it when ya was here does not exist anymore, modularity transformation and all.

3/319 is now in 1 BCT, 2/319 is 2 BCT, 1/319 is in 3 BCT and 2/321 is with 4 BCT.

But that wasn't the question you asked.  I'll check with my connections in the G Staff and find out.

I don't think i have any connections in CARTY but i believe RedLegJm, i forget his actual name on here, is over there.

So i have my info correct, he's a SSG, getting ready to reclass into Active duty as a 13W??

If 3rd BCT is the 505th - See if you can get him a connection there!
