| Not wanting to be accused of beating any dead horses, I offer the following for discussion. Please read the scripture below and consider the 'citizenship' implications for the Christian. Is this all to be taken in spiritual terms, or is there a practical side that shuld be expressed in our lives as Christians? Why is planet earth now foriegn territory? If it is foreigh territory, is it also 'enemy territory? Why, or why not? Why are we still here on planet earth?" “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17 "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus," Ephesians 2:6 "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household. . ." This is how Iunderstand bible scripture as it applies to "Why we are still on this planet?".
It is written that from the beginning of our world,God's design is to give humanity eternal life (Matthew 25:34). The Bible also mentions specific days (Holy Days) for religious celebration held in the early-spring, late-spring, and early-autumn (Leviticus 23).
The observance of these days reveals God's plan for the future of mankind, and eventually, God will teach everyone to observe these days (Zechariah 14:16).
I believe we are still on this planet because not everyone has been reached by God's teachings!

I believe we are still on this planet because not everyone has been reached by God's teachings! Good launch point for further discussion! That's an excellent observation. So how do we specifically fit in to that assumption? Teaching inherently implies telling something to those who have not been reached. You know what's coming.... Are we (regular folks) charged with the telling, or is that left up to pastors, teachers, etc. What exactly are we to tell them? That Did Jesus give his followers an 'OPORD' to that effect and where might we find it? That would be a good starting point in defining what we are supposed to tell/teach.

Isn't it obvious! This planet is going to shake us off like a bad case of fleas.... This topic is too far out there for most p.net users, looks like more folks are interested in latest news! It's obvious to some, and should be obvious to more than just 'some'. So I challenge those for whom it doesn't seem so obvious to dig into the Bible for themselves and become enlightened by the Holy Spirit, or at least ask questions. Considering what comes from the pulpits of many 'user/seeker' friendly churches, for those whose total exposure to preaching and faith is in that environment, it could be totally foreign. It might seem that we're down here to fulfill our human potential, receive many blessings from God and God's job is to act as sort of a 'cosmic sugar daddy'. Then there is this citizenship thing. there are untold millions of professing believers today who's lives reflect one foot in each kingdom (heaven and this world), as if we share 'dual citizenship' until Jesus comes back. We want our cake and eat it too.
