No one here is talking about not allowing her to speak. But we are absolutely going to hammer her for the crap she is saying.

Since you are new here let me let you in on a secret, don't take every call for a beat down literally, particularly from ROS. BTW, how did we get off topic from a mom who supports what her son did to whiny Sheehan?

509-
You're right, and I don't mean these folks here -- but I have seen on the news where people have made serious threats, and that is plain wrong. I think the two situations are instructive in the overall purpose; that freedom of speech is protected here (though not unqualified) and it is a premise of our form of government. We should feel free to express our opinions without fear of reprisal (in physical form), or censure, whether that speech is infuriating or placating to those that hear it. We can criticize, object, or support and defend. But ultimately, we have the right to speak our minds. I don't see how that is objectionable in the broader concept, considering the country we live in. We are not China, Iran, etc., nor should we slowly slouch towards that direction. That's why I think defending Sheehan's right to speak is every bit as important as the mother who supported her son's actions in the GWOT.

Res Ipsa (7/28/2006) No one is saying that. The argument is against censuring her, or prohibiting her from speaking based on her content, in public places traditionally open to speech. Parks, side walks, etc. Many have argued as such, and threatening her with physical harm -- which is flat out illegal and should be punished. 509- yes, she should expect criticism, and she should get such criticism. But it is beyond the pale to consider violence against her, as many advocate, simply because of what she says. (Not that you are).Oh, I COMPLETELY condone violence against her. That isn't even a moral issue for me. After all, it is just assault- not battery. She's more than willing to be physical, herself, so there should be no issue. No one here is saying to censor her speech based on content; we're just saying she's flat-out WRONG. She can say whatever the hell she likes, that doesn't mean we can't say what we will about it. The MAIN issue with her is the fact that she uses her son's death, as if it gives her MORE right to protest that we have to support and automatically makes her opinion more worthy of being upheld. I'll call bullshit on that one right now. Also, you referred to me as "Ranger" earlier. Please, ROS, Jenn, God, etc. will suffice. I'm the daughter of a Ranger and haven't earned that right.

ROS...punish me baby...p-u-n-i-s-h M-e ! As many of you have already stated Cindy Sh^thand is a psychotic looney liberal bag of doo-doo who needs to be forcibly medicated and placed in the same mental hospital as Andrea Yates...they could be frikken roomies! Anyone who plays a shill to the Liberal asshats who are selling our country out to the Islamo-facists are not just misguided citizens speaking their minds but mindless idiots who are threats to our way of life. Yep anyone who shills with Jessie Jackson needs a beat down...really! I would say that she has the right to speak her mind except that it is not her mind but the "party line" of the Liberals that is coming out of her mouth. She is no more than a "Pod Person" who may have once been human but has been replaced by a Liberal clone. As for her son giving her the right to protest by his death...ahem I don't think she enjoyed a parent-child relationship with him for many years and therefore is misleading everyone with her poor grieving mother routine. Go away Sin-dee maybe in Pakistan you can peddle that load of crap to the women beating Islamic terrorists in training. Peace out!

Does her son's grave have a marker yet???
