TSA is really jacked up as an organization. If you have ever been to a job fair they pretty much tell you they will hire anyone. Also look at what they pay, Not a whole lot. So they get a lot of people who can't be hired anywhere else. Unitl they start paying them real money and hire the standards you will continue to have retards screening you.

Redleg, no one here has forgotten about 9/11 or the lives lost. We understand completely about security. But a detail escorting a fallen comrade home in uniform, with a flag and official paperwork is not what TSA needs to be worrying about. Having to publicly take off the uniform and undergo a full security check for service members performing that job is unexcusable. If they were doing it for everyone that goes through security it might be one thing, but they are supposed to do it at random. So how do all three Marines get tagged for a full shake down like that?

Barry's, right from the sounds of it that TSA prick had a chip on his/her shoulder and decided to use it that day on those 3 Marines; perhaps someone failed basic training can you say or washed out of the military and chose to take their weakness out on those brave Marines escorting they're fallen comrade back home.
I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

| Like I said in my post, me and four uniformed USCG officers got the full meal deal and then got pulled at the gate for another round of searches. TSA seems to attract some folks with power trips. I know why I get singled out; I often fly with no reservations or short lead time, I always check my weapons in baggage; and I know the regs concerning travel with firearms better than the drones trying to tell me what to do and I will always call them on it.

| I know the TSA idiots were out of line, and if they get a chance to exercise some authority, they do. Is the search criteria strictly random or do the walkthrough and hand held detectors play a part. I am not defending these guys actions, unless they were within the guidelines. Were these marines made to "strip down" any more than any other passenger. It is also my understanding that they could have requested a supervisor to expedite their security screening, again, the TSA idiots probably did not tell them that. I will not condone the unprofessionalism the TSA displayed, but no one should ever get a wave through security, that is what will allow another terrorist to attack us. The marines could have been treated better, and I am sure most people could be treated better, but why were they any more humiliated than the priest who gets searched, the Doctor, or just the average joe. Treat everyone the same, with respect and dignity. When the enemy is constantly probing for any weakness, there can be no shortcuts.

God forbid we should actually be looking for the actual people threatening us. As long as everyone is treated the same.

How about this for starters...obvious ARAB and Muslims get stripped searched and finger probed...then and only then do you dare ask creditaled US military servicemembers on details or with travel orders to empty pockets and take off blouses. Let's not be stupid...everyone gets some kind of screening but you do not treat US servicemembers like Al Qeada suspects while not daring to look at a real freaking Muslim, Persian or Arabic person. Uh let's see the Marines hijacked how many planes? Muslim terrorists hijacked 4! So stop the political correctness and hire people who are willing and able to treat US srevice members and law enforcement with respect and maintain a healthy paranoia about passengers with a obvious Muslim/Arabic background instead of pretending they don't exsists so you don't hurt their itty bitty feelings.
Stand in the door!
