Diablo, Oh yes!  Soooo gross tasting but yet soooo fast to the desired result!  Sambuca too!  Man, I got some serious alcohol poisoning off Sambuca; the name even makes me sick.  I had another good bender on Grapa up in Erbezzo. The Scout Plt. used to run the land-nav course for EIB up there and we'd end up staying up there for loike two weeks at a time.  Needless to say, we got to know many of the locals and some farmer used to bring down wine and grapa.  I drank some uber grapa one night with a couple of fellow scouts and we all got sick off that stuff.  I remember it had a pine-cone in the bottom of it.  It was horrible but again, the desired effect (getting wasted) was quick.

This should help clear this up for you two; it was a reply to a post; don't know how it got seperated from the thread; probably operator head-space and timing.

"Welcome to the DZ Q-tip,
there are quite a few Vicenza Veterans here. I was a 4/325 in 85-86. I remember when a bunch of the newly rotating in 3/325 dummies raised hell in town and ruined our good reputation with the locals. I hope they forgave ya, those Italian gypsy curses can be hell on a man. (look, I know it wasnt you, but it was the Blue Falcons,,, )

BTW,
for old times sake I'll have a Diablo beer and a flaming buca shot (dont forget the coffee beans)"

Tracking now?  Right then, drive on troop.

You gotta admit that your post all by it's self is a tad squirrelly. Makes sense if it's in response to someone elses post.

No worries   Sambuca is a really nasty, traditional, rot gut, Northern-Italian liquor that everyone ends up unfortunately trying while stationed in Italy.  You're supposed to drink it in a shot, on fire, with a coffee bean in the bottom of the shot glass but as it's pretty cheap, we just used to pound out of the bottle, it for a buzz.  Grapa is about the same and comes in a variety of flavors but in the end, it just pretty much tastes like crap.  It's rumored to be made from the sludge left over at the bottom of the wine vats.  Anyway, it's gross.  Diablo is a beer that's equally as sick as Grapa and Smbuca but it's like 11% beer so we pound that too.  Pretty much anyone who was in the ABCT will know about these jewells of Italy. Good times!

Oh yeah, and they flovor Grapa by putting different stuff in it and letting it ferment in the liquor; i.e.; pinecones, lemon grass and all kinds of other flavors.  It really doesn't do much for flavor anyway, it's mostly for decoration, I think,  We used to call it "moon-shine-wine" and it's the kind of stuff that makes you wipe the sweat off your forehead after taking a shot.  "Shmooove!"

I guess I personally have never felt the need to send myself into that kind of oblivion through that much pain but I guess what ever works
