| Let me do a name search to see how many people are in the military named "Walker"... 10,461...10,462...10,463... Take it easy JR, it would take a little more than a last name for some dedicated tango hunter-killer team to work up the energy to go "get" some former E-3 that drank too much with me in a bar 6000 miles from here 20 years ago, regardless if they are still in the fight or not...no full names were used (skip was his nickname), no SSN, no address, no next of kin info, no DOB...etc. Shit...the guys that were STATIONED WITH THEM bairly remember them save for a few alcohol induced fuzzy pictures laying in a box in my basement... Whoops! INFOSEC/IMAGINT BREACH!!! Better get those pics back to the SCIF! Have a vodka tonic and relax a bit there Rambo...Hoo-ah?!?!?!?

| JR, First off let me start by saying I am a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant and I would never put a soldiers life in jeopardy by posting pers. data and information about anyone on the web. I thought it would be fun to get on here and talk about old times and maybe link up with some fellow troopers and take a walk down memory lane. I tried to post a reply on the Combat Jump thread but it was locked. On that thread I had no intention of posting manifests or talking about classified OPS. Everything I posted is readily available by doing a google search or by visiting some other websites. I was trying to find some troopers who took part on some of these drops for a possible interview and to gather non classified information about the drops and first hand accounts from people who were there. I appreciate your sense of OPSEC but I am with Blue Falcon on this. It was fun why it lasted but I am so outta here Hooah?!?!?

| Don't leave yet Torch, we have endured worse.... JR's point IS valid, just not in the context of this post. We all need an occasional reminder about things like that, it just was not warranted on this thread as there was no real information being passed about...just last names and old memories. I would think he would have had a larger problem with the folks posting stuff about how to get access to official military records; contact information on agencies and companies attempting to get employees to go "get in the fight", and things like postings about when someone is deploying to the field / how certain married dual-military members are going to Eurpoe on deployments this year, etc... Oh wait, that was JR and his HH6 posting that stuff...must not count... Bottom line boys and girls, anyone with any knowledge and some motivation can find out anything about anyone at anytime. While it is important to avoid spilling OPSEC stuff about specific names, locations and units; it is also important that we are able to use this site as a place to talk about the good old days and all things Airborne. If someone needs a bitch-slapping for posting things that could endanger someone, I am sure the mods will handle it by PM'ing the guy and/or deleating/editing the post. I may be wrong and this is not my site to say, but I think we should all just chill and have fun. If someone continues to do it, I will get in a car with the flashing lights, drive to their 8 digit grid and procede to stomp a mud-hole in their ass personally and then walk it dry... Sorry for putting on my boss voice there people, but PLEASE...I mean really.... I will step off the soap box now and go back to being a retard....
Do you listen to yourself when you talk; or do you just fade in and out?

| I tend to be very cautious about using people's names on the internet, it was a long time after I registered on this site before I started referring to the people here by anything other than their screen name. I tend to agree with JR that the line was being pushed. As an example a soldier was named who went to SF and might still be with a Group that has been heavily deployed in the GWOT. I do think the thread on the Combat Jumps was prematurely closed. Actions by Special Operations forces are generally classified, but I see no problem talking about the unclassified operations. The particular jump in question was publicized at the time the combat star was awarded by the Division. But I will point out that nothing had been said, here or any other place I have seen, about Spec Ops being part of that jump. Torch, I hope you hang around and stay a member of the site. We have this type of give and take regularly. We can all forget and make a mistakes, and sometimes we can be overly sensitive about things. But it isn't personal and afterward we can have a beer and toast our Airborne brothers and sisters. HOOAH?

JR (2/23/2006)
Hate to rain on your parade, guys - But you might want to think about PERSEC a little more on this thread. A lot of those guys whose full names are getting thrown around might still be in the fight. No sense in letting the enemy know who and where they are, Hooah?!?!? You can always take all the personal details to PM. Brothers - The highlighted info above is my entire point - Just think about it. Obviously everyone discussing things on this thread is an adult who has served his country and is aware of the fact that there is a real enemy who is out there looking for information. I said nothing when I saw only last names posted here, but once I saw two full names and ranks posted on this thread, one of which was identified as to where he is currently serving - That's when I posted the reminder about PERSEC. If you missed that fact - Go back and check it out. If you agree you might not want to put that out there, feel free to edit it out. As for whipping the attack back on me - I appreciate that is what Paratroopers are trained to do - Meet violence with instant and overwhelming application of violence. Great big HOOAH to that, Airborne! But, hey - I don't profess to know everything and I don't claim never to make mistakes. I also didn't intend to offend anyone with my reminder to think about PERSEC. Remember this - There is a LOT of classified info that gets out. One of the dangers associated with that is sometimes Joe will start talking about classified stuff that he hasn't been authorized to release, just because he hears it out there in open sources. If you don't think we all could use a gentle reminder once in a while, well... WE'RE AT WAR, AIRBORNE - And we're a TEAM. That's why I appreciate BF's comments in response to my post and also why I'm sensitive to offending Torch. Having said all that - Apologies to Torch. No intent to offend was meant, Airborne. Stick around - There's a lot of us "A" personalities on here. Just like there are in any Airborne unit. Back in the day, we used to get pretty pissed off at each other - Sometimes it came to blows (yes, it's true!). I'm sure you have many memories similar to that. But we still drove on and soldiered on together, because the bonds we had (and have) were greater than the arguments. Hooah?!?!?!?

| JR, Got it, and don't worry I'm as thick skinned as they come. I read your comments after a couple of beers. I'm with you and everyone else when it comes to PERSEC/OPSEC. Enough said. Now that that's over, how about hooking me up with one of those Hooah Insignia Bars on the bottom of your post's? And oh by the way. The 325 RULES the Airborne World. And there are many, many, many more Master Blaster Falcon's running around than Air Force one's. Matt

| I would love to make you a custom signature banner, Torch - Only problem is, I'm leaving next Tuesday at 10:31am on PanAm flight 321 from JFK to Timbuktu, Mali for a 7 week mission there as part of the 333rd Mess Kit Repair Battalion, commanded by LTC Joe Bag O'Donuts and CSM Harry Eyeball. We'll be staying on the 3rd floor of the Timbuktu Motel 6 in room 369, in case you want to reach me. Be sure you call after 7pm Mali time, because the bus doesn't leave the base until 545pm every day. Maybe when I get back... As for there being more Master Blaster Falcons than Master Blaster Air Force types - Well, ain't you the Master of the Obvious?!?!?!? Thanks for pointing out how unique I truly am! Ha-ha!!! Bet you didn't think you were complimenting me with your comments, eh? Freakin' Falcons... Anyways - I think you oughta look at how many AF jumpers make it to Master Blaster, as opposed to Army jumpers. Let's talk percentages, Hooah?!?!?!?
