HOOAH, RJ.  Good post.

Bro it's Lassen.....not Larson, that's me. But heck, I'll take your money too!!!!!

I subscribe to the Static Line first and foremost to help Don out. He's a crotchy ol dirty man, (right Janis??) but he does yeomans work. Secondly, his paper is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to finding paratroopers. Every month he publishes either a part of a states subscribers or the whole state. You as a chapter member can use that as a cross reference to your membership and use it to glean new members!!! Try it!!

On another note, I got involved in the 82nd Airborne Division Association for two reasons. First I was tired of sitting around watching the way things are currently running and hearing "That's the way it's always been". And secondly, I missed hanging around my fellow papratroopers. Six conventions in a row and I'll go every year as long as the Association exists!!!

With the first we have made inroads, but my God, it's an uphill fight that is progressing slowly. When I was initally elected as an ND I was the Youngest ND in YEARS......basically they thought I was a fluke and I do believe they wanted me to shut up and color. But I've learned a few things since becoming involved, and I sincerly believe that if our generation truely gets invoilved, deep. We can keep this train on the tracks and not have an old Sergeants Major club.

We want to make this association family friendly. Thats why I have drug my kids to a few conventions. The older folks love them and I want other couples to see us and think, hey mamybe next year I'll bring my kids.

I'm not bragging but it was on my insistance and suggestion that we have babysitters at the 2001 convention in Charleston SC. I am glad to see that idea eventually adopted into the Convention SOP.

They should and will be other changes to our Association in the future. But with all things political, it will take time and concessions. I got the time....do you??

BTW did I mention I was running for ND in Harrisburg this year????

Show up and vote for me, because if you don't go you don't matter.....(until I can get that by-law changed )

Big Al!

You will be at the Atlanta Awards or the 82nd Convention?  I declare this topic officially hijacked.
