We are losing so many members of the 17th AB Association.  I know many of you might enjoy meeting with these old warriors and just chatting with them.

So mark your calenders for September 7-10, 2006!  The 53rd Annual 17th Airborne Association Reunion will be held in San Antonio, Texas!  A full description and hotel information will be posted at a later date.

Also, if anyone would like information on becoming a member, please contact me and I will email you the stats.

Thanks!

And if anyone is in town, give me a holler and myself, SN, and perhaps some of the rest of the S. Texas crew can get together for some beers.

It's sad that these units won't have anyone around to carry on their legacy.  Units like the 17th and 13th Abn. Divisions, the 517th PRCT and the 551st PIB(certainly not a complete list) were well trained and, with the exception of the 13th, saw some heavy combat during the Battle of the Bulge.  The 101st did a magnificient job at Bastogne but all of the attention paid to them leaves out units like these.  The 555th has found a niche that will keep their association alive, but unfortunately these others will probably just disappear.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
