I need to obtain the line art for the five combat jump paratrooper wings in high resolution vector format. I need this for my dads head stone. He was a member of the original "501" America's first paratroopers and went on to make 24 combat jumps during WW2 in the south pacific. He stayed in the military after the war and retired after 23 years active duty. He passed away recently and I want to put the wings of his beloved paratroopers on his head stone. He more than earned them several times over and was a true patriot to the end. Being a vet myself, I made sure he had a funeral with full military honors but I still need to do this last thing for him and give him his wings on his head stone.Thanks. F.E.C.

I know that the fellow over at www.military-graphics.com makes his vector art designs available for sale... you might try contacting him about this. I haven't run across any free sources for these types of graphics.

The original 501st PIB became the 2-503rd PIR, which made two combat jumps in the Pacific(the 503d Regiment made three, but the 2nd Battalion did not make one of them).  I assume he was also in Korea?

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I was wondering how long that was gonna take...

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

You can download an EPS file of Airborne Wings from the Air Force Art website at:

Should be easy enough to add a star to them.
