I don't want to see this adopted.

What a POS, what's with the stupid "F"ing sloped rail on top? How's that going to do anyone good? They can come up with something better than that...

| One would think in this day and age, ALL new military rifles would come with mulitple full length M1913 Picatinny rails on them stock. But this stupid Stars Wars looking piece of plastic has none. Go figure.

I think I'll wait to pass judgement until I've held one in my own hands. From what I've been told, the G36 is a very nice weapon.
Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like there might actually be a picatinny-style rail that is offset from the curved carrying handle. Look at the front sight-post....it looks to be offset, otherwise it would be impossible to look down due to the carrying handle.

Remember that they hired Porche and (Audi?) engineers to come up with something curvy that Americans would like (marketing). They are rumored to have paid $50 million for these cosmetic changes that you love so well.
That barrel seems shorter than an M-4 barrel.
The optics are far removed from the line of bore(like the M-16).
plastic mags are iffy.
ambi controls are good, but they can be done for '16s now.
The GL should come on/off with 1913 rails at least.
Where is the major improvement? Aside from looking like some Sci-Fi Insectoid race gun, nothing special.

Exactly RD! Where's the improvment? Mise well adopt the SA80 if that's what they want to do.
I saw we go back to M14's with light stocks and start establishing "marksmen" (they have this now but very few are desginated). Make our tricked out M4's the standard as far as CQB and improve it rather than go out and buy all new rifles.
BUT I would like to see the beretta POS replaced with H&K USP fullsize .45. I have one and wouldn't give it up for the world. No more putting 15 holes in someone to bring them down.
Question for those of you out there that know. Why don't we use .308 chambered rifles? I saw a nice Rockriver, while it might be heavier (the ammo), sure as hell would only take one shot to rip someone's body apart and you gain a heck of a lot distance...

Looks nifty, who cares if it works or not..it looks cool. It sorta reminds me of the weapon in Starship Troopers. You know if it's made by Germans it's bound to be good engineering..if not over-engineered. Really it doesn't matter though...cause it "looks" cool...really, 'cept for the 'Nade Launcher which is too bulky.

WTF? I thought this was the US Military, not Star Wars.
