Unfortunatly,
A second degree burn is the most painfull, It encompasses the top layers of skin that house all the nerve ends.

There just ain't no way about it..................it hurts. If you
decide to pop it, try to make a small hole along the edge of it, where
the blister meets the normal unburned skin. This will leave a protective cover over it. Of course use a sterile needle and Silvadine.

Hope it feels better soon.

I say amputate! This will relieve the constant pain from the blister and burned epidermous. Remember to take the finger off below the knuckle so that you can sew the skin flap up over the stump. A good sharp heavy bladed carving knife will probably work just fine to cut through the bone. Was this the "bird" finger or the "booger" finger that got burnt? You may have to do some physical therapy to regain use of the finger for those functions! Good luck and remmeber to self-medicate before attempting this, also remember to use your cutting board that has been sterilized with Betadine as you want a good solid, clean surface to work on. Hope this helps.[OO][]

Thanks for everyone's help, except maybe Jumpmaster. It is my booger finger and I would like to keep it. I went to three different drug stores and no Silvaden cream, but I did find the bandages. I am out looking tomorrow for the creme. The sooner I pop this thing, the better!
