I was just thinking that myself!!!! Lets do it! Make 2005 a PNet gathering in Nijmegen. This dutch kid, showed my girlfriend and I all over the battlefields. He lives in Grossbeek and has an obsession with the 82nd and its participation in those battles. He really had an in-depth understanding of the battles and how they were fought, who did what and where, it was very impressive. Doing the tour with a bunch of vets would be awesome!!! HOOAH!!! A Very Famous Bridge in Airborne History!!! (Hail Mary Full of Grace...Hail Mary Full of Grace)

| Hello, I am the "cherry",the FNG,e.t.c. first I did not know about this site. I am not much on the "information age". I just read that the 508th Regt.Assn. is retired. I came to this site to look for these Associations. I am already a life member of the 187th ARCT Assn. I was never at "Division" when I served,I left "Battalion", PCS'd to Panama and became a "Rakkasan" and then a "Red Devil" when the unit redesignated from 2/187thAbn.to 1/508thAbn.

| I apologize I have continue this way,Ya'll. I am looking for old/new 508thAbn. troopers. It is a F-ing tragedy, that the Regt. Assn. had to retire. I can only say that all old/new Airborne must band together. We would during an operation, we must now. I was proud to be in a Ranger Batt.,and as proud to have been in some highly commended old Abn. outfits. I consider myself " a Third Brigade Bas---d",cause I was 508th in Panama, though never at the 82nd myself. And I tried hard to see how the 187th was doin',too during the Iraqi Invasion.Anybody /everybody that was a jumper can contact me. Besides my own family,Ya'll are all I have for friends that I feel I can count on.24/7.God Bless!

yeah hop I served in the 1/508th when it was at Kobbe during the Col. Barefield then under Col. Fitzerald from July 88 to Nov 89' after coming over from the leg battalion where I served for 7 months til I had my chance to escape from there. I was down in Charlie Company under Captain Davis where were you at bro? Do you remember pulling those patrols around Howard and coming in the morning and having the SP's looking at us as we passed them at the back gate like we were some kind of aliens life forms or something coming in from the jungle? It was great every time we got that look from them when our patrols came in each morning. send me an pm if you want to get in touch brother. "Fury From The Sky"
I'm Surprised Panama's still sea level, after all the Push Ups I did down there.

hop&popponysoldier (11/4/2005) I am looking for old/new 508thAbn. troopers. It is a F-ing tragedy, that the Regt. Assn. had to retire. I can only say that all old/new Airborne must band together. We would during an operation, we must now. I was proud to be in a Ranger Batt.,and as proud to have been in some highly commended old Abn. outfits. Besides my own family,Ya'll are all I have for friends that I feel I can count on.24/7.God Bless!Hop&pop, the 508th national association was started up as a dead man's organization. They limited membership to those who served during WWII, ending I think in September 1945. One of the members of my Chapter was went to the 82nd in December of 1945 after the 13th Airborne Division was deactivated, and was assigned to the 508th PIR. He did not qualify for membership in the Association because he wasn't there during the periods that qualify for membership. The Association could have changed their bylaws up until it disbanded to allow younger troopers in, but they wanted to keep it as a WWII organization. I want to wish you good luck with starting a new national organization and feel free to contact me for help. I am the Treasurer for the 509th PIA and while the Association has been around informally and formally for at least 30 years, things were done on an informal basis. Because the guys who organized the Association have all passed and no one has the paperwork we are having to reconstitute the much of the formal structure and paperwork. One thing to look at is joining the 82nd Association and becoming affiliated with the 508th Airborne Chapter. You do not have to have served in the Division to be a member of the Association. I never wore the "AA" patch either but am Chairman of my Chapter. Here are a couple of websites for you to look at: http://www.red-devils.org/index.asp http://www.82ndassociation.org/default.aspx For only $12.50 a month you can become a life member. Good to see another of the younger generation Trooper looking to get involved.
