Make plans to attend the 2004 Camp Toccoa Reunion

October 7-10, 2004

If you would like to be on the planning committee please contact the Chamber of Commerce for meeting dates.

706-886-2132

The Toccoa/Stephens County Historical Society would like to invite you, or your group to attend our third annual Camp Toccoa Reunion and Reenactments. Camp Toccoa now made famous by "Band of Brothers" was the birthplace of the 501st, 506th, 511th, and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments. We usually have Veterans from all four regiments attend every year, along with Veterans of all conflicts since WWII. The 506th and 501st Vietnam - present day will also have men attend.

This year we are expanding the focus for our reunion and reenactments to include all WWII units. Allied, and Axis. We are having great response throughout the U.S. and Europe. There will be onsite camping and display areas for reenactment groups. The number of battle reenactments will be determined by the diversity and number of groups attending, we have 9+ hours for battles. Every group that attends are invited to take part in the battles. We hope to have several hundred reenactors take part along with several different military vehicle associations.

There will also be displays, and aircraft from today's military. The event will take place at the Toccoa Airport, October 7-10, 2004. We also invite reenactors to visit our local schools on Friday. If you ,or someone you know that might be interested please invite them, along with Veterans of all wars. For more info and agenda of events, contact me at:
buckyandstephanie@alltel.net
or (706)-282-0507.

We hope to see you in October. Registration begins July 1, 2004.

Thank You. Bucky Simmons. Toccoa/Stephens County Historical Society. Toccoa Georgia. United States.

If any of you hard chargers out there would like to come to this event it will be a great time.  I was there last year and will be there again with my Company of Reenactors (Item Co. 3/506PIR 101AB)

Hope to see you there!

I should mention that I will be bringing my copy of BOB with me to get autographed by Wild Bill and any other Easy Company vets that show up.

Found out late yesterday afternoon that I will not be able to get off work on Friday. I still hope to drive over Saturday morning, maybe driving part way on Friday evening.

509,

Don't expect any Easy Co BOB guys there.  They've been semi-disinvited.  The Other vets (rightfully so) don't like how Easy Co has gotten all the positive press.

It all stems from when BOB came out.  They BOB guys had their own special reunion paid for by HBO in NYC while the rest of the 506 was in Toccoa.  Leaves Bitter feelings.

Last years best quote from a vet "F$%K Easy Co!"

still it is a good event!

For anyone else that might still be going, these are my plans. As soon as I can get off work on Friday(it will be an uncharacteristic casual Friday for me) I will be on the road to Atlanta. Plans are to hook up with Jmpmastr and his HH6 overnight and heading up with them on Saturday morning. Thanks for the tip Fred, but I think I will take my copy of BOB just in case.
