If you do get 13F, it would be anywhere, at every maneuver BN, in the TOC, there are 13F's, they are the FSE, then you have the FIST, which are are attached or assigned to the CO level, the way it works out is there is a CPT at the Bn level, and LTs at the company level, they all have their enlisted counterparts, an SFC at BN level, a SSG at the company and usually a SSG at the plt level. For aviation and the seperate cav squadrons, the numbers are smaller. In the UA's, the Fire supporters are assigned to the actual unit and they are no longer a part of HHB in the FA BN. Bottom line is you will wear crossed cannons, but you will belong to the maneuver unit. Most CDR's keep their FSO/FSNCO close by since he is critical in the MDMP and giving guidance on the spot, or calling in CAS, or Naval gunfire, mortars, you name it, the 13F is expected to be the expert in all areas of IDF. I would think you would have a lot more options since they are standing up alot of UA's to round out the divisions now. Either way, good luck.

Just keep in mind that there are two distinct 13F there is a FO who is basically an Infantryman who is shithot on land nav and humps a radio, and then theres the 13F that sits in a trailer behind a computer entering data.... Just make sure your not the latter, it sucks donkey. I cant belive they are letting you out of MP duty, here in the KY guard they are switching alot of folks out of arty and maintenance mos's into MP slots because noone wants to do it and they are hella short right now....
