Hey everyone, I somehow survived OSUT and got my crossed rifles. I was in Delta Company of the 2\19 Infantry, the infamous third platoon. We became infamous after a contraband search right after midcycle pass and some of our lesser privates got caught with candybars, cigarrets, cell phones, chewing tobacco, and one idiot even had a Playstation! To say a heavy loft of manure hit a giant fan would be an understatement. We were again under Total Control a good portion of our AIT training and some got sent home for the nonsence. There was a good number of summarized Article 15 handed out for most of the platoon (how bad are those, since I got one too cause of some MRE stuff I had on my locker that I had forgotten about, will it follow me everywhere???) At the end of our training, I got some 10 days leave before I gots to report to Fort Campbell and process into the 101st. Some of the reclass guys I had with me during training told me that I should get ahead of the game and get the 101 Screaming Eagles shoulder patch on my BDUs now and get them pressed along with my class Bs so I look squared away once I get there. Others told me to wait till I get up there and that will be issued to me. Im kinda confused. While at Benning, I was offered to fly to Campbell strait from there and it would be at no cost from me, I turned it down cause I wanted to see my family and wanted to take my POV up there. I got rear ended yesterday and I took my car to my friends autobody place and he told me it may be ready next week, i'll be up there by then, so now I have to book a flight, which im not sure if I'll get reembursed for it. Well, im calling the traveling office tomorrow morning and see what they tell me. Glad that I earned the Blue Cord! HOAAAH!!! Rob

Congrats Hazard! Welcome to the Brotherhoood! Becuse you are are cherry Infantry you are 99% likely to be assigned to the Div. So it is a good idea to have your patches sown on your uniforms before you show up at 20th AG. (As long as you have a tailor that knows Army regs.) With their activation today sounds like you will almost certainely be assigned to the new 4th Bde. RAKKASSANS still LEAD THE WAY THOUGH!!

| congrats about passing and on your assignment to the 101st..I wouldnt worry about patches being sewed on. The unit will give you four and you can get them sewn on for free while you are at inprocessing. Also, if you have been in the army less than six months by the time you inprocess, you can dx all of your bdus anyway. Im sure they are a bit big by now anyway..

Good luck getting anything DX'ed prior to you getting to your unit. Before you leave 20th AG who have to have the Screaming Eagle on the left shoulder of three Bdu's. At least that is the way it used to be.

Congratulations on 'Turning Blue' and graduating. My brother graduated OSUT about a month and a half ago. My patch recommendation is to wait until you're on base. Cleaners not near military communities will charge and arm and a leg to sew your patches on, and then you have to make sure to tell them exactly how to do it.

Congradulations on graduating from OSUT and going to the 101st. As far as the Patches are concerned. Probably 6 of one, half dozen of the other. If you do get them sewn on before reporting, as RAKK stated, be damn sure they are in spec. My personal experience, I waited until I reported to the Repel Depel before having the new patches sewn on.
