I have a question for you LE types.
I recieved a speeding ticket in Jan,03 in the great state of Mass. I sent the ticket in and requested a hearing, this was in late Jan. As of yet I have not heard anything from the court. So should I let sleeping dogs lie or should I make a call. My consern is that this will come back to haunt me 5, 10 or 15 years from now in the form of "oh sir you are under arest for not paying back a ticket in 03).
LETS GO !!

| Fair warning, man. I got a speeding ticket driving from Columbus to Savannah, and blew it off...FIVE years later I tried to renew my license in South Carolina, and that thing was still a flaming hemmorhoid as 'unpaid fine in Muscogee county.' Granted, I'm a knucklehead for wadding it up and chucking it in the back seat. Lesson learned...

If you got a ticket in Ma. and have not had a hearing or paid the ticket it will come back to haunt you. Did you send it Certified Mail? Keep a copy of the request for a hearing? If not you could be in for a battle if some clerk lost your request.

Yea, take care of it. It's a minor thing, but in the future it could be a pain in the butt, more aggravating than serious, but still a hassle.

| If it was in January, I'd almost guarantee you've got something out there waiting for you. My state is part of a compact, so if you get a ticket in another state and fail to appear, your license here will be suspended for FTA. Better to get it taken care of ASAP.

I think that you are already screwed. If it was issued in January you probably had a 45 day payment period on it. If you sent in a request for hearing and for what ever reason it didn't get scheduled you probably have a BW out for your arrest already. If the did receive it and schedule it and you didn't get the notification your still screwed and there is a BW out for your arrest.
Bottom line is you had better jump on it now and you might want to have a lawyer available just in case.
