My oldest daughter reminds me I am "older than dirt". Both of my daughters were born while I was in A Co 75th Rangers Fort Hood,Texas. I celebrated both of there births by being in the field and gave out Ranger cigars to all that would smoke them!

Since there births I drug them up and down the road with me screaming and a kicking about wanting to settle down and "keep the same  friends". Well that never happened till after I retired and spent some 23 years in the Infantry, Airborne, Ranger, Recruiting, and Drill Sgt Duty! All the while my HH6 closed ranks with me and took everything the Army could throw at her and in the end when my career came to an end at Fort Benning, she said "I just don't want you to retire", even she knew how much I LOVED being a soldier anywhere anytime, anyplace! HOOOOOOOOOAH

Out of every 100 men, ten shouldn't even be there, Eighty are just targets, Nine are the real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the one, one is a warrior, and he will bring the others back." - Hericletus, circa 500 BC

Got married on your Birthday, how about that.  Congrads on both. Many happy returns.  You know that 55 is the early gualification age for FOG status.

HOOAH on both counts.  The best part about being older than dirt at 55 is that you are now a FOG, just like RJ said.

The older I get the more I know how little I knew when I knew it all.
