I never read through this thread...too busy getting ready for OIF2. I did get something out of it: the Blue Cord came to be during the Korean War where my father earned his CIB [3rd ID, 65th RCT]. I wore it with dress blues for the first time while I was also serving in Korea in the UNC Honor Guard in Seoul. The U.S. platoon of the UNC HG followed "D.C. Old Guard" standards for everything we did [D&C] including the wearing of dress blues and M-14s with bayonets. The good old days: young, dumb, and full of c__.

My biceps are so big now I wonder if I could fit the thing on my arm anymore...
Do you listen to yourself when you talk; or do you just fade in and out?

One of the hardest days of my life was having the Infantry Cord and discs taken off to put on the MI Weenie shield of sham.... I'll bet that wasn't half as hard as taking the backing off your wings and putting on low quarters and a garrison cap!
Aim small; miss small.

When I PCS'ed to Germany I had to buy a new c*nt cap... my issue one had two eye-holes cut in it from a night of silliness on Ft. Lewis. Had to buy low quarters as well... didn't have a clue where my issue one's were.

we always used to call low quarters the shoes of shame yeah I had to wear them for 7 months in legland whenever we had an inspection or whatever weed went up someone's 4th Point of Contact. The remainder of my time in the Army. luckly was spent on status so I never had to worry about that one ever again.
