Because of this, the upcoming PT for the AF has me worried...two years ago I could smoke the test...now the Cube monster has cursed me with lethargy.

What's wrong with this picture?? PT in the Air Force is rarely that stressful. All you gotta do Lieutenant, is to get up and "do what needs to be done". It's not like the fun(?) runs I had at FT Clayton in the CZ three times a week. They usually consisted of 3 miles of running in formation from the main gate to the back gate. And that was just a warm up! [][] I wasn't a Gym God then or a PT monster with Popeye the Sailor man muscles and yet I could hang.

You can do it too, Sir. Just remember that the hardest part is to actually get going on a physical fitness program. [8D][o)]

Hey Chief, you forgot we are talking about the largest civilian organization in the military. PT for most of them is walking from the crew bus to the aircraft.

ArticAbn Sir,

PT Report as follows:
Push-ups = 40
Sit-ups = 30
1.5 Mile = 15:50

No pull up bars to speak of on Eglin. I will continue to search.

1.5 Miles ran due because that is the new AF PT Test (to be implemented in January)

New AF PT test is a 4 part test. The test is scored on a 100 pt scale. each part is worth a portion fo the 100 pt total. the 4 parts are (percentage of total in parentheses)
1.5 mile run (50%)
push ups (10%)
sit ups (10%)
tape measurement of abdomen (waist) (30%)

to pass the test, a total of 75 total points need to be accumulated

If I were to have taken the test, my score would have been the following:

run - 35 pts
waist 22.35 pts
push ups - 8.21 pts
sit ups - 7 pts

Total - 72.56

Now that is pretty close to passing, but that is not good enough. I have to be able to lead by example and set a standard for my airmen...I need to be able to smoke this puppy!

If you can give me a email address where I can send you the scoring matrix, I will gladly do so.

No minimum passing score per event?
