Is there or has there ever been a Special Forces Military Freefall School at Bragg? I thought that the MFF school was at Yuma Proving Grounds but a guy I was talking with said that he graduated from the SFMFF school at Bragg in '73 and Yuma Proving Grounds was only for test jumps.

MFF is split between Bragg and Yuma. Starts at SWCS and they go tu Yuma to jump.

When I was at Bragg in the mid 80's, the free fall school was all done at there, and you went to Wright Patterson AFB for the free fall tunnel.
SF Demo It's not the ride that gets you, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I went to MFF school at Bragg in 1989. We called it the "Smoke Bomb Hill Sport Parachute Club!" They even had some bumper stickers which said: JUMP A JET! Smoke Bomb Hill Sport Parachute Club

JR, Thanks for the info. I had seen the old bumper stickers and thought it was a sky diving club. i didn't know that it was the school and you earned your wings through it. Thanks for the little history lesson.

In the early seventies the HALO school was in an old WWII barracks on Smoke Bomb Hill close to the SF Bookstore. All of the training was done there. At one point mechanic's creepers were used as training aids. No wind funnels, no Yuma and no badges. Pretty basic stuff.
