I have never heard of anyone being pulled from school for combat. [ ] It was always a joke that the RI's would pull on us that the 75th had made a jump while we were in school. It would really stir things up for a couple of hours.
I know the Panama vets would tell us of going to Ranger school with a CIB and jump wings and giving the RI's crap about being a PFC with a CIB.

Ranger2, my reference was a joke based on a poster we had here probably a couple of years ago. He said he was assigned to 82nd Div. HQ and the someone from Division called while he was in Mountain Phase and had him returned to Bragg in order to jump into Haiti. As you can well imagine this individual now limits himself to Military.com and no longer posts on Pnet.[ ]

I wound up going to Suck-school with two others from my unit, straight from the front lines, with no prep and very little notice. In one way it was great not to be under fire, but the RI bullsh*t was twice as frustrating since we knew what was real-life and what was mind-f*ck.

SSG. Silvas (10/24/2009) question on this topic, im 38 and having problems with my knee, is there a way to go to Ranger School still? plus can you go to Ranger School with a profile?Thirty-eight years of age is not a barrier. Problem knees are a huge issue however... what good will you be to the Army if you break yourself? Profiles are a no go period.
