I was with the 2nd Id in 85-87 stationed at cmp essayons with the 6/37 mlrs. I also went to ROK Ranger School june 6 1985 and to Cheju-do repelling school sept 16-23 1985, I was a SGT at the time and was able to get the schools because being previously from the 82nd I was surrounded by legs who didn't have the balls to go to these schools, well I did and ate it up. There was one thing that stuck in my mind at the ROk Ranger course, there was a budist who had stationed himself on an outcrop of rocks on the side of a mountain we had to run and duck walk up, White Horse Bn loved to duck walk. The school was a cake walk and I was very disappointed with it, also soon after it the ROK Ranger Patch became unauthorized so bragging rights were lost, I mean what the F is the point if you can't sport the patch. Cheju repelling school was a blast, more like a vacation then a military school, the best part was the 300' ausy repel an ausom cliff for getten serious air.  To this day have my certificates from both schools and a lapel pin from Ranger school. What was the date of the ROK Ranger Class you went to? I'm asking because chances are good we were there at the same time.

Hey alive...we definantly were there at the same times....Im at work ...when i get home im going to look at my certificate to see the date...but i think i went after the DMZ which was during the summer so my date is probably around august for the school. And yes i rememebr most about the P.T. we did everyday and all day at ROK Ranger..loved it though..which i could go through that gain and get in great shape. I also believe the commanding general who signed the certificates ( and handed them out) was General Lee. I will get back with you on all this but right back we had to have seen each other somewhere while we were there!!

Keys to Area J!!!!

LOL!

I haven't heard that one in almost 20 years!

Glad to see that your interests are Harley Davidson's. That's a big hobby for me as well. What type of bikes do you own?

Also, I think some of your history got cutt off in your profile. Can you post all of it here? It makes for interesting reading. I had a lot of buddies who went through the Q course.

Hey bro nice to see a fellow biker/paratrooper. I have a 73 Triumph Bonney that I've owned sence I was 15 I purchased it after busten my ass for the summer at a restraunt only paid $225.00 for it, it is now in prestine condition and waiten for my Boy. I also have an old 49 I picked up in korea from an old korean guy who had 4-5 that were old police bikes had to send it home piece by piece due to shipping cost and no POV authorized,  I ended up extending an extra year over there to get it done. I'm presently riden a gezzer bike an 80 ultra classic but I have to tell you I'm getten reel used to the  couch and tunes.

As far as my history goes basic/ait/jump school 82, strate to Bragg, 3 yrs give or take with the 1/319, sent to Korea and spent a year with the 2ID at essayons and then a year in taegu as commo Sgt for 188Mp com. Stuck in a leg MP unit sucked bad and killed my desire to stay in the Army, I discharged and spent a year on the block getting into troubles and then relized I made a mistake and re-uped, the only way I could get the "Q" was to go through the reserves so I signed up with the 12th out of los alamitos Ca. shipped to Ft Gordon for a commo school and morse code school and then to smoke bomb hill for selection, ended up with a broken foot and tried to hang but finally couldn't go on, I was sent home to my reserve unit to heal and ended up in a bar fight and the law was involved messed up my security clearance so I opted to discharge rather then spend another 3-4 years with a leg reserve unit, been stuck in the eternal leg land we call civilian life ever sence.

Wow thats cool that you have an old triumph!

I know the feeling about wanting a nice couch to ride on. I rode a rigid for many years and I really enjoy my Eletectra Glide Classic now. I also have a 1996 Heritage Softtail.

Lastly, you were in the NG at Los Al? I live pretty close to there (In Irvine). Eventually I would like to get back in and go through the Q course. Who knows if it will ever happen tho.
