I am at a local college yesterday in AZ on a break from my EMT course...and there is a girl in Class A dress uniform with the SF patch in red with a gold sword....on the left shoulder....Since I am not up on all ARMY stuff....could someone enlighten me on what that patch is??? and what is means??? I would guess civil affairs??? The closest ARMY base is Fort Wachuka.....
Bottom line...she was cute as all hell and I would like to move in on her next time I see her...would like to be able to talk intelligently with out making an A$$ of myself...which I tend to do often
Any insight would be great....
Thanks
Chris

It'll never work out, you're a Marine she's Army, forget it, people would never accept you as a couple. But you could always go up to her and say "so you're Special Ops too huh?" "I'm the door gunner on the Space Shuttle Atlantis, what's your job high-speed?" That ought to get her to open right up![]SF has a red arrowhead with a black dagger, and a teal arrowhead with the gold dagger and 3 lighting bolts but I can't place the one you describe. Good luck and happy hunting.[thup]

She probably already knows what patch she wears but if you need to tell her.

Only one that comes close.

OK...
I was at best 80 feet from her when I noticed what looked like a special force RED tab on the left shoulder and it looked like a GOLD sword against the RED tab...the sword did not apear to have the lightning bolts....

P.S. A follow-up on my status.... My recruiter is waiting for a waiver to pass through...It's a age waiver by being over by 2 months...he says it should be no problemo....Then I will be a rigger in the California ARMY-NG as a 92R...After a year I will jump ship and head to the closest 19th SFG either Los Alamitos or head to Utah....Since I will be an EMT by then hopefully I can go 18D... Who knows, I will probably spend a year in the desert first before doing anything...
Thanks
Chris

hit it is right, it sounds like the Army's Special Ops Command patch with the red and black airborne tab. If she is USASOC she will be wearing a maroon beret.
