Just an update, the episode of the massacre of 507th Paratroopers will be re-aired tonight at 9:00 EST for those of us who missed it the first time.
Abraham Lincoln (quiet, reserved and selfless): “The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here” -Gettysburg Address Obama (egotistical): “Now the world will watch and remember what we do here”

| I had heard on the radio that WWII vets are now dying at a rate of 1000 per day. That sounded like an awful tall number but never the less you are correct Barry. The first hand part of that piece of history will soon be no more

Joel, I think the VA puts it at a little over 1,050 a day, and I have heard estimates as high as 1,400 per day. There is a sadness to going to the reunions because I look at the vets and wonder how many won't be around for the next reunion.
Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American GI. One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
