Well, as of right now, I leave for Benning in 8 days. I report to the local recruiting station at 1400 on the 15th this month. Since I first posted in December 2002 (I found it in september some how from a paratrooper chapains web site)I have learned a hell of a lot of things about the Army, paratroopers etc... I have shared a lot of laughs here and stepped on my dick more than a few times. You guys have always been there to square me away and I thank you for that.
I have a few last questions for you.
It says that I have to bring a Drivers Licence or State issued ID card to MEPS. I dont have either. The first time I went (to get into the DEP) I used my School ID card, and they didnt care. This time I wont have a school ID card but I do have the DEP ID card they made me with a photo on it.
The first time I went in Dec 2002, I took my proof of birth abroad certificate, SS card, and birth certificate with me. Will this be necessary this time. (dont worry, I will ask my recruiter all of this, im just making sure, he has forgoten things before. like sending in my HS diploma, my pre basic stuff and my referals).

It says to bring a shaving kit. Well, I could try to bring one, but they dont let you bring razors on airplanes any more.
Any hints/tips would be appreciated. No, I will not tell my Drill Sergeants "You Cant Smoke A Rock." SSG Nagel already tried to instill me this gem of wisdom
Also, would it be permissable for me to put, as my avatar, the "Follow Me" patch while I am at OSUT. Or is that something I will earn the right to do, after I complete OSUT.
Has anyone heard from "GIJOE" he shipped out early this year, he should be done with his training.
A kid who graduated from my HS last year just got sent home from Infantry OSUT. Couldn't hack it.

Never tell the DS that he cant smoke a rock, because he can. Tell him instead that he cant smoke jello [thup]. Also make sure you question the DS alot. It shows you're thinking. If the DS tells you to do something and you think of an easier way, ask if you can try it your way, they like that [ ]. Good luck and hope to see these [abnwing] when you get back.

Compforce: Thanks for telling me how to get the ID. I agree with you about the patch, its something you wear after you earn it, not before. BTW, I have a unit in my contract. The 82nd Airborne.
Arcticabn: Yes sir, I have. I told my recruiter that, he said they might check that as well, and I could get it at the PX at Benning. I will take your advice and check it. If they take it, I at least tried. Thank you sir.
Annie: I have an old bag or two, that should work fine.
To all who asked: He got out on a medical thing, his father (who is a Captain in my CAP squadron) said it was for "mental health" reasons.
