It is with great pleasure to announce the selection of Al Larson ( Mortarman ) by the Low Country All Airborne Chapter as nomination to Run for National Director.

Hooah, Big Al. I can see Big Al getting elected and then making PT mandatory prior to all Directors meetings. That would definately get some young blood in the leadership positions.

Although I don't know Mortarman in person, it is good to see some young blood showing interest in leading this Association.  HOOAH!!!

Rakk, Im sure you recall the human loudspeaker we call Big Al "Mortarman" Larson, he's usually hammering someone on voting and then dressed like the Bolivian General at the formal dinner.

Good news Al... hope you're shining up that pie plate, ironing your sash and dusting off your shoulder brushes.

Good to have you aboard, this should be an interesting time in Reno, I can only imagine what people are going to say when they not only see Bytor up on the directors but also have a couple of young bucks (well, me at least on the young part) running this year. I think its going to send a good message to both the senior members and the younger generation... the next generation has begun to step up and take its place in the Association to ensure a solid and forward looking perspective in coming years.

So, if Bytor, Rigger and Mortarman can step up and not only handle local chapter office, but run (and in Bytors case win) position on NATIONAL then I think its time for some of you troopers to ante up your 12.50 or 150.00 and get your membership... then I challenge you to attend meetings and become active members, we cant do this alone and if you could see the numbers regarding the losses of the WWII aged troopers you too would see that now is the time to start getting involved, and learning the ropes from THE most experienced association troopers... before they are not available to counsel us.

Hooah?

Mark and all, thanks for the kind words. I was going to announce later in the month, but Blake beat me to the punch. I am honored that my chapter selected to me to run. I have been thinking about this the past three years and I figured now is as good as anytime. If I win, then I think we would be the only chapter with Two National Directors.

I'm running on a platform that would include the participation of ALL chapter members being able to vote for National Directors regardless of attending a convention or not.

I'm sure some fellas from the West Coast will be running too. It should be a good race. I expect to win, but if I don't I will run again, and again and again, because Paratroopers don't quit!!!!!

Oh yeah, if you go to the convention I'll be easy to spot. The only guy in the Air Force class A's with enough ribbons to choke two goats. But they are earned, so I might as well wear them.

See you at Reno!!!!

Big Al!
