Are they doing the 250' towers again? We didn't have to do them.

I was picked-up by an 82d Recruiting team in Germany in 1980 and passed the selection and PT test. Upon PCS from Germany I reported to Ft. Benning for the Airborne Course and then was sentenced []uh I mean sent to the 82d. I know that it is hard to believe that I was ever a leg and that I was for a few days the cherriest Sp4 in the 82d...ahhhhhgggggggggg.[B)][bigM]Thank God for the Airborne Recruiting teams!

It's rather hit or miss on the towers. I heard not only from Rios that they are still used. However, when I was at Bragg they told us they were broken, so out of use.

They seem to be broken alot, but hey, they are old.

I didnt do them in 1989 but the reason given was winds. Rather than risk student injury on the 250, they choose to simply skip it since in reality the 250 really doesnt make any difference. Your practicing slip and plf which you should have plf'd enough in ground week and your last 250 on the live jump is plenty of experience.

AND most of the time for students at the 250 is standing around watching the OTHER students so much more training can be packed in during that time.

I didn't get to do the towers either for the same reason Mark just gave, but I spoke with a 3rd lieutenant in one of my classes that just got back from BAC and he said he did them....

Yes you will be able to do it by the time you get out
of AIT.
Unless you suck at running.[]
