Now I know I'm Old!! Inclement weather??? Whats that, when the 1SG's coffee got cold???? I don't think he or CPT Graham would've gone for the barracks run deal!!!

One dark winter morning at Ft. Rich, AK, my squad leader decides we'll run steps in the abandoned barracks across the way. So the 7 of us go over and kick a door in and start sprinting the stairs up three flights and down three flights. After 30 mins, we got bored and my buddy asked if there were anything in the building we could take. "I don't know, lets look around." So as we jog down the long hall, he kicks in one of the doors. Turns out, the building was not abandoned. I don't know who was living there, if it was some visiting unit training for winter conditions or if it was some husband who got the boot from his wife after drinking a bottle of Jack. We didn't stick around to find out; I should have done my APFT then - we all would have maxed it. We stuck to the prescibed running routes after that.
I lack people-skills.
