he was fully for it once he came back out into the public. i'm not going to say he fully supported it because i don't know. maybe he did tell shinseki the idea was "F"ed up. if shinseki insisted that this is what he wanted, then it's a done deal. the SMA could only opt to retire in protest. some officers actually did that if i remember correctly. so i guess now we'll never know.

hit it, trust me, if Hossra says Tilley fully supported it you can take that as gospel. Second, I would be willing to give him a pass if he hadn't lied about it. To try and quell the controversy Tilley put out a "history of the black beret" for soldiers that contained information that was at best misleading and at times was an outright lie. I fully believe Tilley was a yes man for that peglegged pr!ck.[ !]
