Just completed our Chicago Installation of Officers and I was asked repeatedly if I intended on running again this year for National Director.

I would like to announce to you today that I WILL be running again this year and any other year I feel Im able until such time as I get on the board or the general membership makes it clear that what I have to offer isnt what the membership desires.

As I did last year, I will be pushing issues important to our association that in recent years have been glossed over in others bids for National office. Im going to put hard changes to our members and see who feels strongly enough about the future of our organization to get the work rolling needed to make this a viable association in the next 50 years.

I know Im aggressive and many of the old guard have told me TOO aggressive but really... this IS a paratrooper organization right? Isnt it aggressive front forward brother to brother talk that is appreciated and EXPECTED?

Well, Im young and will be around, and I'll throw it up there and we'll see what sticks. I appreciate the support Ive gotten from many of you in both last years vote and the overwhelming comments and urging to keep it up and run again. It means a lot to me to get the respect of those I hold in such high esteem.

That said, if you're one of the supporters of a renewed 82nd association that will be striding to embrace and bring in our newest troopers in a rapid infusion of new blood, I hope to see you face to face in Reno or at the very least I hope you will take my case to your chapter meetings and ask your members to look at what I can bring to the board and see if they'll support me.

Hooah!

Congratulations Mark. Once again you'll have the backing of the Low Country All Airborne Chapter and of our National Director/Chairman Blake Hicks. But I'm sure he'll jump on here to throw in his congratulations too. Airborne!!!!!

Mark, I know it's an up hill battle, I'm one of the younger members of my Chapter and I'm 45! I believe that the older guys are just afraid to let the younger troopers in because the older hands feel like they built the organization and they do not want to feel left out if newer troopers take leadership positions. Hang in there and I'll do my best to support you any chance I get. We have to get new blood in the Chapters and not just the dues paying young Troopers who are never at the meetings but younger members who are allowed to have a voice and shape the destiny of this great organization! I encourage you to keep on fighting for a leadership position and to drive on!

Stand in the door!

I don't know anything about this at all but I do know what makes a good leader and that is a man that cares about the organization and what they are doing.  There is no doubt that Mark cares about the organization and the unit it represents.  I wish you good luck and I know if elected you will do a outstanding job as you care deeply about what you are doing.

Mark, I will be there to support your campaign again.

As I have said before, I will be supporting you and will cast my vote as a delegate from the Greater Rochester NY All Airborne Chapter.

Thanks gang. I intend on putting a rather public online campaign together, with platform issues printable so you can bring them to your chapters and help let people know what Im about and what I hope to bring to the table.
