Yeah bro, I remember that murder....As I recall, they were pulling 3" long splinters from the dudes eyes sockets from the beating with the 2*4s the hit him with....I beleve there were more than just Rogers that got sent up for that...If he survived being in the Italian prison, he would be out by now...

Anyway, nice to hear from you again!  Get to work on that reunion, will ya?

These guys were at this disco frequented by African-American soldiers and the victim showed up (a student from an African nation I believe) and started having a good time and moving in on some of the ladies.  These soldiers jumped him in the parking lot and proceded to beat him to death using nearby lumber from a reconstruction project.  Talk about making the blotter report...

Hi Howard, sorry I haven't been as diligent in my correspondence as you and the others. As it stands I have my own what you might call Restaurant, and of course I'm the Chef too. Strange as it may seem, apart from the other skills I've aquired over the years, cooking has always been a passion of mine and now after alot of patience and (Italian) beauracracy, I've been able to realize a life long ambition. I'll send you some pics of the place as soon I can, then when you and the Mrs. come to town you can wine and dine in my house. Youre recollection of the incident involving Rogers is a little different than what I was told by Mark Davis, you remember him from Mortars, he was the driver of the car that night. He basically said that this guy (the African National) was literally buggin the shit out of Rogers the whole night, and after Rogers had had enough, the guy only wanted a ride home or to the train station, Rogers just plain lost it and comenced to beating him. From what Davis told me it wasn't Rogers intention to kill him, in fact from what coroners report stated that the guy was mererly unconscious and later died of exposure, being that it was during the winter. He did 12 years which is the max for involuntary manslaughter, another kid, I don't recall his name, some retard from A-Co., was sent up with him for the same 12 years. Scuttlebutt had it that Rogers had had a hard time adjusting, the other half-a-meatball did his time learned the language and I believe was released early, after that nobody really knew anything else, too damn busy goose stepping around Hokstra Field with "Merrigans Maruaders". Talk to ya soon Gus. as you can see at the time of this message it's really friggin late, business is good and I have to do the lunch crowd tomorrow, should have about 70 to 80 for lunch.

Mac,

You may be right, but who knows?  I got my info from Edwards who was at the club that night.  I think the story you heard smells of a cover-up, as from what my few remaining brain cells recall, there were more people involved in the beating but only two were identified positively...I definately remember hearing about the big splinters of wood in his cranial orb though...

Where is this resteraunt?  I will definately be back to Italy now that I know you have your own place!  Molte Bene!  Of course, I will have to still eat once or twice at Del Folgers...you know, for old times sake!  The frau has a cousin or some type of relation that has a pizzaria as well...looks like I will have to step up the cardio to make some room for all of this food I will be eating!

Do you listen to yourself when you talk; or do you just fade in and out?

Mark Davis was my squad leader at the time of the beating incident.  He spent a short while in the prison himself because he was there that night, though he did not participate.  He came by the barracks after he got out, and he was sporting a pretty sizeable 'fro (well, compared to the high and tight he had before he went in), and said that the worst time of it all was on Banner Day, because he could hear us all yelling and whooping it up on the North 40 on the other side of the wall.
