Now that I'm all worked up I will have to go home and eat some spagetti with a side of.....er....french toast I guess....

Do you listen to yourself when you talk; or do you just fade in and out?

I recall Walt's, Johnny's, September's, the NCO club, the Rod & Gun club aka 'Hook and Bullet', Del Foghers, the Hotel Ellen etc.

I was there twice in the late 70's and early 80's with my Father.

I was known as Miller Lite and he as Doc.

Of course I was just a little kid then. In 3rd grade the first time around and 6th the next.

Those bars were second homes as the old man would frequent them and I tagged along.

Anyone out there on the same page with these times, dates and names?

Why dont you do a proper intro and tell us who your Dad is?

I was there from 1978 to 1980 and I never heard the Rod and Gun called the Hook and Bullet.  We called it the Rod and Bottle.  Reagantrooper is right, you need to do an intro.

I remember there being two Samoans on the Geronimos, one I heard was teased now and then or when he was a civvy by the other Samoans for being small but I don't remember his name. The Charlie Samoan I think was Pau Pau or Porter and with mortars.

I remember two medics, one because he carried a huge Bowie with a brass knuckle guard and the other because we saw him running in Wildflecken one day carrying a log, a large 6-8' log.

Were you at VHS? I remember one night coming in a couple VHS kids were being hassled by some leg at a barracks near the main gate. Someone said one of the kids hung around the 09 so we shut the leg up.

My father was Staff Sergeant Fred R. Miller, Jf. of HHC 509th ABCT.

I do recall a Doc Miller,  but I can't place a face to the name.  There were at least a couple of Samoans on the team.  One of them, I think it may have been Pau Pau, I ran into at Macguire AFB while I was PCS'ing to Vicenza.  He had done a tour with the 509th already and was on orders for Germany.  After I arrived in Vicenza I ran into him.  He had gotten his orders changed to go back to the 509th.  The name Decondario also sounds familiar.

I can't remember his name but there was a rigger NCO who got busted.  He had been in the Army for seven or eight years at that time.  They reclassed him as 11B and he was assigned to my squad in B Company.

The 34 foot tower was on the north 40.  The cables ran over the track with the berm in the corner of the post.  There were lots of guys who did PT hung over.  One of my roommates, guy from Florida named Everett, got trashed at the Rod and Bottle every night.  He was up doing PT the next morning with the rest of us.  The only time he dropped out of a run he actually had bronchitis and dropped out by the hospital and went straight to the emergency room.

Good to see you online, Sergeant Major! Enjoy your retirement, you've earned it!

Do you happen to know where CSM Hernandez or 1SG Lowery are these days?
