If any of you guys would like to give WWII Veteran Paratrooper Zlotopolski a message, I'll print this thread out and give it to him when we see him. We'll get lots of pictures of our honored guest and post them in Pnet if he doesn't mind.

It is an honor to be a Paratrooper thanks to you and the gallant men who went before us and blazed a trail in combat. I am a second generation Paratrooper and my beret is off to you and all the other men who set the high standards that we are measured by today. We strive to be as good as you were and to continue your legacy which freed the world from a brutal dictator and continues to this day keeping the world free of brutal dictators. God Bless you and thank you for your dedication, courage and honor.--Dale Simpson (82d, SF, LRS)

Sir, it was an Honor for me to have served in the shadows of great men such as yourself!! You paved the way and set the standards for thousands of future Paratroopers that followed. I wish I could be there in person to shake your hand and express my grattitude to you.

Regardless of the late date of a WWII memorial in DC, your brothers in arms hold your deeds in high esteem inside us as our own personal memorial. It is our pleasure to ensure we do what we can and what we must to preserve the history and to honor those that both gave thier lives as well as the ones that came home. The paratroopers of today stand ready to support each other regardless of rank, date of service, gender, color or creed. We are a family and as such we take care of each other. No trooper is forgotten here, from the famous deeds of WWII to peacetime service many would overlook, our brotherhood stretches far and wide and Im proud to be among you.

Paratrooper Zlotopolski, Please accept the gratitude of my family. There is never a day that goes by that we aren't thankful for what you and your brothers-in-arms did for us. All that we are able to do is because of you. Your generation was called upon to right a terrible wrong, and the world knows that you responded with efficiency and honor. I would imagine that many on here would agree that when we think of the ultimate paratrooper, he is wearing BROWN jump boots. Enjoy the (long overdue) ceremony. You are in good hands with Kate and Jumper. Take care, GoldenGriffin family

Alfred, It has been my distinct pleasure to welcome you and your wonderful family into our home. The service and history that you've given to the 82nd Airborne Division is immeasurable. You and others like you have lead the way and made the Airborne what it is today. The WWII Memorial is for you. It has been too long coming but it's finally here. Enjoy it. When I look at that beautiful Monument, I will think of you first and foremost. All of the WWII Veterans have my respect, love and prayers, as do all of the brave men and women protecting our freedom. It has been an honor to meet you. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all that you've done. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. All my love to you and your family, Kate
