Hello to all. BHohmeier reporting. I am young one (just 15 1/2 in sophomore), but I have always believed in planning for the future early, and the paratroops is where I want to be. I would love to either attend the United States Military Academy at West Point (I like typing the full thing) or go through ROTC (you can guess which is my first choice). Afterwards I would hate to go any other way but airborne. I want to pay my debt to my country, I want to serve with the best.

Right now I'm trying to learn what I can about what I'm getting myself into, getting into shape, and trying to make me a standout for my application to WP while bettering myself in the process.

I should let you know that I have already located the search button. And how can I end my first post with thanking all of you the great service you have done for our country and for me.

-Brian

Welcome Brian. Cant ever be too early to prepare for something like West Point.

West Point? Excellent choice! What have you done to prepare? Straight A's in school is a good start, but ensure that you diversify, as well. Sports is always good. Student government also looks good for an applicant. And as a former Cadet myself, I would highly recommend the Civil Air Patrol as an organization of which to be a member. Along those same lines, JROTC is good, too. What I'm saying is that the more diversified your activities in high school, the better your application will be. Good luck, and welcome to Paratrooper.net! [thup]
