Delta just answered my next question.
Why is jumping lots of small sticks/chalks better than air assaulting the same.

No, that's not a typo warpusher. The Soviet 12.7mm HMGs are referred to as .51 cals so as not to be confused with American M-2 .50 cals.

BTW: One of these firing 12.7mm AP can penetrate 16mm thick steel plate at 500m. The Stryker's armor is only 14mm thick steel plate.

Thanks for the insite....I knew of those ruskie guns, but I've never heard them refered to as .51 cals.
Do they still operate that 14.5mm heavy mg?

Yes they do still operate the 14.5mm guns. They have AA versions that really tear up helicopters. They mount them on just about anything including BTR's, tanks, BRDM's....etc. They use the 14.5mm anti-tank cartridge that was developed in WWII and has TWICE the energy of the American M-2 .50 cal cartridge. Scary thought.

If I'm not mistaken, The Sovs still operate some 14.5 rifles that were single shot to use against material (kinda like we use the Barett). These, along w/ some of those euro 20mm Anti-material rifles are really scary! I wouldn't want to be in a Stryker

Yes, they made thousands of those 14.5mm anti-tank rifles in WWII. They were very effective against German light armor and motorized units.
