Yeah, I would agree with that 100%.[ ][:o)]

Delta, damn sneaky, modifying a post quote like that...but that's what I like about you. However, there is a guy in a ducksuit who might not be as pleased, I think Jack is a 325er.[ ]

In the SOF community, where do Snipers stand?
I've heard of Snipers in ABN units, SF Units, Delta units, Marine Infantry, and non Airborne infantry untis, and 'SEAL Sniper Teams'
With the SEAL sniper Teams, the things I've read says that they can number up to 5 men. But with the Army, and Marines, I've only heard of two men teams. Anyone know with why they have so many on a team, if the info is correct? Not looking to violate opsec.
Are snipers considered SOF, as a whole, or just when they are in a SOF unit?

CW, the reason SEALs use 5 man sniper teams is because the two man sniper team needs a 3rd guy to make sure their make-up is good for the picture the 4th guy is gonna take for the book that the 5th guy is gonna write about the mission. Makes sense now right? [ ][ ]

Ya know, back when I tried getting in the Army under the 18X option, my biggest fear was, that I'd be assigned as an RTO. Those poor guys, they seemed like they where bullet magnets in RVN.
And those cherries assigned to LRP/LRRP units alwasy got to hump the PRC's.
JMPSTR, your right!! I have to concur with what someone said earlier about going into a bookstore, and seeing nothing but SEAL books. But hey, somone's gotta make a living right?
What get's me about SEAL teams is, when I do read their books, (yes I do, among other SOF books) I always read about them being in the last place you'd think they'd be in. Such as a landlocked country, hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean.
(A-Stan) for example, or the Hymilayas. How is that? The term mission creep, is a correct term?
I've read people say, when you have Highranking SEALS, serving in Socom, then you'll have SEAL teams operating in all sorts of terrain. I'm willing to belive that, to a point. No disrespect meant towards any SEAL, but, how is it, that you train for Maritime Ops, and then find yourself, at 8,000ft elevation in a landlocked country running Ops? I thought they where for coastal areas, and areas such as the Mekong Delta.
