Ok, dont know if this has to do with the desperation and stress that my current financial/job situation has me in but it seems that in the last 3 weeks, I turn and run into God.

A few examples... Im a wayward soul who gets to church not EVERY week, but fairly frequently. I had chatted in December with the church staff about a website... hadnt heard anything... but then last week.. pop, phone rings and its the pastor, talking about the site and while it wouldnt happen now he chatted with me about resumes's and jobs...

Wife got a book for xmas.. Jesus in Blue Jeans, it just happens to seem to be a book Ive moved twice in the last couple days and hits my attention when I move it.

Went to church and they mentioned the Da Vinci Code book, so my wife picked it up and so far I am finding it extremely interesting (might be something worth discussion here on pnet btw)

Little things that I couldnt describe too... but added up seem like that part in Bruce Almighty (movie) where Jim Carry (Bruce) is in his car driving down the road begging for a SIGN and he keeps passing construction DANGER type ones... Merge Left etc... and he ignores them looking for some HUGE SIGN from God and wham... accident. Its like Im suddenly picking up some little signs.

This morning... wife left the TV on all night, I woke up and watched the last 34 minutes of a movie called JOSHUA. It was very moving and the closing really GOT to me. Got out of bed this morning and felt like I had a little better perspective on things if even for a short time.

So... anyone else get this?

I don't know if it's a sign, but it's one heck of a coincidence: I am reading The DaVinci Code RIGHT NOW.  I'm on page 95; I'll probably comment when I'm finished.  It holds a little extra interest for me, as part of my Intel job involves cryptography.  It seems kinda weird, because a Specialist at work had just finished the book, and let me borrow it.  I suppose it could be a sign, but a sign of what, I don't know.  Let me finish the book and then I'll get back to this topic.

umm i wouldnt put too much stock in that davinci code book... there is a book called cracking the davinci code, and puts some perspective on it through christian eyes.

now as for signs from God, I see them all the time.  one really obvious one that happened a few weeks ago.

we had had a really bad snow storm, and it was really slick on the way to work. i commute 60 miles one way, and was driving my 70 scout that morning. i got in a rush and started driving pretty fast, and then got stuck behind a slow moving semi. i started to get flustered when i looked over to my left. and i saw the little reader type message board for a church, which read

" If you are looking for a sign from God, this is it." I busted up laughing so bad, because, the slow moving semi was a sign from God saying hey Sword, Slow down or they will be picking pieces of you up out of ditch because you were stupid and thought you could drive 65 on compact snow and ice.

I see a lot more subtle ones here and there, for instance.... i have been looking for work and wanting to get over here to boise, to be closer to my girlfriend, as well as go back to school here, and probablhy join the guard over here instead of in oregon. I have noticed a lot of little things that leads me to believe that I am truely following Gods Plan for my Life, and the direction he wants me to go. Things like people calling about a job interview, or a small door opening here or there. I truely believe that Gods Plan for me is to work part time, Go to school part time, and do the Guard for the first 4 years of my enlistment. The reason I feel this is, because he is slowly laying the ground work for an easy transition, and getting me to the point where i can say see you later to my current job, and be able to move.

I have also noticed how, by reading my bible, God REALLY does speak to me through his scriptures. you notice things that apply directly to your life, as well as answers to questions you have.

So you see, God really may be pressing on your heart and sending you signs. Just stay open to things... Pray atleast once a day and let the good lord know whats on your heart and mind, there is no perfect way or strict way to pray, just talk to him like he was your buddy. The good lord likes to hear whats on our minds and our hearts. Also remember the more you ask and trust in God to Deliver, the more he will bless you with.

God speaks to us in many ways and by many means.  Most of the time we are too preoccupied with our everyday life and miss the subtle whispers of God.  When our own solutions leave us wanting, we are more inclined to hear God speak to us and understand His message.

God bless all our Airborne brothers!

Golden rakkasan.
