Hey guys, I was wondering what boots yall wore for work. I need to get a new pair PDQ. Been having problems with comfort, and getting the "foot" more often than I should. (My feet sweat easily, hell, even in sandals sometimes) I have tried different boots and I'm not happy with any of them really. Working long hours, lots of OT, ect.... Here's the poop, I work in Corrective Services, so I'm not out directing traffic. I am outside occasionally, if the assignment calls for it, and I live in Michigan, which = cold and wet in the winter and hot and wet in the summer. I've been through Hi-Tek Magnums, Altima Tactical's, Bates Enforcement Series, and occassionaly my Corcoran II Field Boots. I'm not happy with any of them. I need something that is comfortable for sometimes 16 hours a day, won't over stress my back, has excellent arch support, and breaths really good. I had the idea of three different kinds of boots, but I wanted to get the imput from all you High Speed, Low Drag Brothers in here. Here's what I came up with, let me know your thoughts:
1. Altima Jungle's w/ Ripple Sole (I've heard those soles are awsome)
2. Adidas GSG-9 Boots (used by German GSG-9 Anti-Terroist Group)
3. Some kind of Danner summer boots.
Any imput from you guys would be really appreciated. What do you guys wear? I know that with alot of these "Tactical" boots, they can't be re-soled. At this point, I just need something comfortable. I have noticed that from switching from regular white cotton socks back to issue black socks, my feet breath a bit better. Do any of you guys use any special insoles that you purchased seperate from the boots? Thanks in advance.

| Go with the Danner's. They make a great boot. My feet never sweat in them if I'm inside or outside. Very comfortable boot right out of the box. Well worth the extra cash. They can be resoled so you get many years out of them.

Two suggestions: I wear Rocky CrossTechs. GoreTex lining. Best damn boot I have EVER had on my feet. My feet hardly ever hurt while wearing these baby's. But put me back into pair of my loveable jungles, dang my dogs start screaming after about a week. I think CrossTech line was dropped but after a major outcry, they brought back a better edition. The Oakley tactical boots are getting some major raves. My SWAT buddy wears them and he says they put the Rocky's to shame. I kinda believe him because I bought my Rocky's on his recommendation. Also, Danner has a new tactical boot out like the Addidas and Oakleys. It's real new, can't seem to find much on it right now.

Good Call Ertman, but I got to this post too late. I just bought a pair of the Oakleys. $125.00 + S&H. Actually, I am a big supporter of Oakley now. They support the Military and Police. Everything they sell, ie; sunglasses, clothing, watches, ect... is 50% off the original price for us. THATS A DEAL! Especially on the shades. The boots look comfortable. I agree with Danner's Non Tactical boots, they will last FOREVER if you take care of them. I have a pair of Ft. Lewis Edition Danners that I've had since winter of 96 and I LOVE EM. They are still in great shape. Ofcourse I've never used kiwi on them either, only Danner Grease or Mink Oil. I really don't like the fact that I can't resole the tactical boots, but If I can get a couple years out of em and their all I want, then that works. I'll give em a shot, if they fall apart, then I go with the Danner Arcadias. Heres a pic of the boots.

Thanks again guys for all the input. My feet thank you. I'll let yall know how the Oakleys hold up.
Note: I can't post url links like you normaly would, or view the smilies due to being at work. This PC won't support it.

I have 2 different uniforms that I use for different occasions at work. One is BDU's and with them, I wear the Hi-Tech Stealth boots with the side zipper. I've had the same pair for the past 2 years, and they're still comfortable. I think I paid like $85 for them through www.galls.com . Our other uniform, which is the dressed patrol uniform, I wear the Bates low quarters. I know you said you were looking for boots, but if you decide to go with shoes, the Bates low quarters are just as comfortable as a good pair of tennis shoes. You can also get them from Galls. I'm not sure of the pricing, my Kitchen6 bought mine for me, and all she said is that "Someone lied to Gall's and told them that those shoes were made out of gold". So, according to the Kitchen6, the Bates won't be the way to go on pricing...LOL. Hope this helps, but if not...oh well, at least i tried.
