There have been complaints about the ruck. The Marines dont like it
and are switching to civilian gear to replace MOLLE. Any feedback ?
Ther has been some discussion on the Infantry forum, but I think we might get a more open opinions here.

The Marines have made the selection and I am looking forward to seeing the issued product.

T6 For one you can't jump it. Second you can't load the thing with more than 90lbs because the frame will snap, and third it is way overpriced. The Army needs to pull it's head out of its ass and make the same transition the Marines are doing. We could have had so much better gear for way less. Imagine going to REI and ordering 500,000 Rucks. I bet it wouldn't have cost the Army half as much and the soldiers would have some good gear.

Last year some of the SOF units were starting to switch to jumping the MOLLE, but alot of people ended up breaking the plastic frames, especially when it was cold outside. I also didn't like the vest riding up around the neck when I was rigged up , and I quickly decided to go back to the LBE and ALICE pack. What a POS!!!

I used theshoulder straps and waist belt on my large Alice. I also put the sleeping bag carrier on the bottom of the Alice. That worked.

You can jump the MOLLE, I have the rigging procedures at work. Unfortunately, none of our JMs will touch it. I prefer the molle vest to the LBE, as long as you swap the belt so that it snaps from the rear. Everyone here in my unit has the MOLLE & the ALICE. The majority of personnel seem to prefer using the MOLLE vest with the ALICE pack.
