Hey Airborne,

I'm new to the site, came over to this site because of CH Chuck's Swordpoint, can't get enough of it, how about you?

I'm a SFC, 15 years, currently Sr. Instructor for the 34th Divarty's IETP (Initial Entry Training Platoon), we prepare new soldiers to go to Basic Training and SUCCEED there. Prior to that I was a Gunnery Sergeant for Btry F 151st FA, a top-5 firing battery in the MN ARNG.

I ask for your prayer support, as I have a call to the Ministry, and feel I've done all the hooah things I need to do, and want to help people find the answers they're looking for. I've submitted a packet to become a CH Candidate in the MN ARNG, and will hear the results on 17 Sep 03. My past is a little *checkered*, but hopefully those who make the decision will have heard of a guy named Paul, formerly named Saul (get my meaning? []) Thank God we overcome by the word of our testimony! I feel that 15 years as a muddy-boots Artilleryman will get me some credibility with the troops, as I can relate to what they may be going through. I made more than my share of Chaplain's visits when times were tough myself (I remember one particulary ugly incident in Korea involving Soju and a dear-John letter...) I go to school at Bethel Seminary in Saint Paul, MN, and will graduate in May '05.

I look forward to letting anyone who's interested know the results. Thanks for your support!

In Him,

SFC Phil Winn

Phil, I will be praying for you alot in these next few weeks. I also feel a call to the ministry of the chaplaincy, but feel the need to get my feet wet in the Army first.

I'm praying that the Lord would make himself more evident to you every day, for your personal growth and your testimony.

Maybe we'll see each other someday and I can say that you're my chaplain, huh? God bless you and your family, Sincerely,
Olin Bradley.

I totally support your quest, and ask this: Who among us is without sin? NONE, right? Whatever bad things you may have done in your past are forgiven by our Lord and Savior. Whatever indiscretions that you may have experienced are irrelevant; you have accepted the call from God, and the forgiveness from the heart of Jesus. Go out and do great things in the name of God!

[] Gentlemen,

I received word that my packet was approved by Nat'l Guard Bureau, and I'll attend a Federal Recognition Board in Saint Paul, MN on October 15th and become 2LT Winn, commissioned as a Special Staff branch officer (Chaplain Candidate). When I graduate from Seminary in May '05, I'll pin on the cross and be a Chaplain.

I appreciate your agreement with me (Matt 18:19) and hearfelt prayers, and will post a picture of commissioning day. God gets all the glory, because I know my own individual effort is entirely futile, as I experienced failure at every turn until I finally made a true heart-change towards Him.

Have a blessed weekend!
