Go with God, but make Him walk the point.

If you load a mudfoot down with a lot of gadgets he has to watch somebody a lot more simply equipped - say with a stone axe - will sneak up and bash his head in while he is trying to read a Vernier. - Robert Heinlein

Just a note to let you know I have not forgotten about sending pictures! Just need to carve out some time to glean through some files and send a few good ones! B4B is still here!

Having read some news online, I noticed things are a little dicey around Baghdad. There is a bit of the mushroom syndrome here at the training base. We have not received a real intel (S2) briefing since July when we arrived here. The leadership might be concerned about employee retention. Anyway, I am convinced the prayers of the saints (all you folks) has a lot to do with our safety. Just wanted to say thanks and keep it up! We are not that far from Baghdad and are still a named target. Please add to your prayers that because we have not been hit yet, a sense of complacency does not take root! We need to be ever vigilant! And pray for the several Bible studies taking place either on the training base, across the way on the U.S. Army side and all over Iraq! Thanks Again!

Had a bit of a scare last night. e were told to expect a mortar attack. Either it never materialized or their aim was so poor they missed by miles. Given the local terrain and where the fences are, indirect fire would be the only way to hit this place save for the infiltrator slipping in with day laborers, of which there are many.

B4B-
Ive kept this prayer in my wallet for the last couple of years. Assume everyone has probably seen it 1000 times, but I always found it very powerful. Just passing it along. Take care...

Give me, my God, what you still have;
give me what no one asks for.
I do not ask for wealth, nor success,
nor even health.

People ask you so often, God, for all that,
that you cannot have any left.

Give me, my God, what you still have.
Give me what people refuse to accept from you.
I want insecurity and disquietude;
I want turmoil and brawl.

And if you should give them to me,
my God, once and for all,
let me be sure to have them always,
for I will not always
have the courage to ask for them.

B4B, My prayers are with you and with all our troops every day.

May God bless you and keep you safe until He brings you all home to your families.

Trust in the Lord.
